I was watching Brennan Lee Mulligan yesterday, he was doing D&D Support for Wired, and something he said about how dice sometimes don't want to tell the story you want to tell, and how you as a GM should consider failure as the springboard to something hit me. Not because it's a new thing, but because I think there's very little practical advice on how to actually do that. Yes, yes, "turn a tpk into story", ok, but how. "Instead of dead, they turn up in jail" is a bit limiting.

My partner was laid off from her job of 17 years because it was primarily USAID funded.
