Things that I've heard being referred to as simply "ISO":

- camera sensitivity (ISO 5800 and other)
- date and time representation (ISO 8601, which includes a specification of a slightly extended Gregorian calendar)
- character encoding (ISO 8859)
- quality management (ISO 9000)
- disk image (ISO 9660)

Things that I *haven't* heard being referred to as simply "ISO":

- a sheet of paper (ISO 216)
- air (ISO 2533)
- tea (ISO 3103)
- human sex (ISO 5218)

@samgai You got me all excited for an ISO-standardized Kama Sutra but instead I get "1=male" and "2=female"
