I can never look at a date without spending 10-15 seconds trying to parse it in multiple ways and then reassuring myself it can only be one specific format.

Can we please just use ISO 8601?...

It's the same order as ISO 8601, plus little characters to reassure you which number is which.

Danish people typically write it reverse of ISO:
09-06-2021
Which makes ok sense until they drop the year and it's suddenly

At which point I have no idea if it's june or september.

People using latin script could learn something. 2021Y06M09D wouldn't be the worst thing to write.. Although there isn't an ISO standard for doing something similar AFAIK.
